IIT Bombay has taken a significant stride in fostering entrepreneurship by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with two of its distinguished alumni: Ramesh Mangaleswaran, Senior Partner Emeritus at McKinsey & Company (B.Tech., Metallurgical Engineering, 1989), and Rajesh Jain, Founder and Managing Director of Netcore (B. Tech, Electrical Engineering, 1988). This new partnership has led to the launch of Project Titanium at IIT Bombay, a comprehensive initiative aimed at nurturing budding entrepreneurs.
Project Titanium will feature an Entrepreneurship-in-Residence (EIR) program and a multi-sided marketplace coupled with a mentorship program that includes both technical and business guidance. This initiative is designed to help aspiring innovators and entrepreneurs effectively navigate the complexities of the entrepreneurship ecosystem.
Complementing IIT Bombay’s existing incubation initiatives, Project Titanium seeks to drive Entrepreneurship@Scale and support the growth of the translational research ecosystem. The initiative is also tailored to help entrepreneurs bridge the gap between research and commercial viability by providing access to existing research with high Technology Readiness Levels (TRLs).
Through robust academia-industry partnerships, IIT Bombay is committed to playing a pivotal role in the mentorship and advancement of the entrepreneurial journey, fostering a new generation of innovators and business leaders.
