IIT Bombay and Tower Research Capital have come together in a strategic collaboration focusing on corporate social responsibility (CSR). They have partnered to establish the ‘Tower Research Capital Machine Learning for Social Good Lab’ within the Institute. This innovative lab is dedicated to leveraging AI and machine learning (ML) methodologies to address crucial challenges in Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) education.
This partnership is aimed at tackling the significant issue of employability within the CSE field, exacerbated by skill gaps and disparities in gender and economic backgrounds. Utilizing IIT Bombay’s advanced educational technology platforms, the initiative endeavours to provide practical, hands-on learning experiences through online degree programs, individual courses, and certification series tailored specifically to CSE students.
Prof. Kameswari Chebrolu, Principal Investigator at the Tower Research Capital Machine Learning for Social Good Lab, said that the emphasis lies on harnessing IIT Bombay’s ed-tech platforms and AI/ML models developed through extensive data analysis. The goal is to offer scalable online degree programs, standalone courses, and certification series tailored to meet the unique needs of CSE students. She added, “We are deeply appreciative of Tower Research’s generous grant, which enables us to conduct educational outreach programs that will positively impact the lives of numerous aspiring students nationwide, while also driving advancements in AI/ML applications within the ed-tech sector.”
