IIT Bombay welcomed a distinguished delegation from Sony Group Corporation to campus. The delegation was led by Dr. Hiroaki Kitano, Chief Technology Officer of Sony Group Corporation, to explore potential collaborations and enhance existing partnerships.

Representing IIT Bombay in engaging discussions with the August delegation included:

• Prof. S. Sudarshan, Acting Director and Deputy Director (Academic and Infrastructural Affairs)
• Prof. Sachin Patwardhan, Dean (Research and Development)
• Dr. Rajesh Gopinathan (Head, Translational Research & Entrepreneurship)
• Prof. Swaroop Ganguly (Professor-in-Charge, IITB Research Park)
• And various faculty experts

The Sony delegation included:

• Dr. Michael Spranger (COO, Sony Research)
• Ms. Erica Kato Marcus (Executive Director – Partnership & Communications, Sony Research)
• Dr. Nirmesh Shah (Sr. Research Scientist, Sony Research India)
• Mr. Arithy MV (Manager – Strategy & Partnership, Sony Research India)

Later, the delegation also explored IIT Bombay’s state-of-the-art Nanofabrication Facility and engaged with faculty members specializing in large language models.
