Acharya is the CV Starr Professor of Economics at the Department of Finance at New York University Stern School of Business and has assumed charge of Deputy Governor, Reserve Bank of India on January 23, 2017. Prof. Acharya obtained his BTech in Computer Science and Engineering from IIT Bombay in 1995. Subsequently, he took his PhD in Finance from the New York University Stern School of Business in 2001.nn
