Mr. Madhusudan Reddy is the Managing Director of Banjara Cements Ltd.; Managing Partner, Banjara Construction and Developers; Promoter Director, VIF Airways Ltd.; Director, Wheels Global Foundation; President of Jeevani Waste Management – an NGO; President of four residential colonies doing community work; and on the Board of Woxsen School of Business.nnMr. Reddy obtained his M.Sc. in Applied Geology from the Department of Civil Engineering at IIT Bombay in 1974. He was also a Research Scholar at the Department.nnHis memories during his four-year stay at IIT Bombay are more associated with his active participation in sports and cultural activities.nnSpeaking on the contributions made by Mr. Reddy for the Chapter, the Ex-President of IITBAA Hyderabad Chapter Mr. Shashi Mantrawadi said, “Madhu, as a senior and inspiring alumnus, was co-opted in to the Executive Committee of Hyderabad Chapter for a period of 3 years to revive and guide alumni activities in 2011. He has been generous in extending invitations for all possible occasions to alumni, be it networking dinners, lunches or coffee meetings at his house. He ensured that the atmosphere was the best throughout and took personal pains in making things happen. He has been participating in all the activities of the Hyderabad Chapter and encouraging others to do so. He had been the go-to man to help raise funds whenever the Chapter fell short for funds”.nnHis hobbies include bird watching, wildlife photography, traveling, promoting and collecting art.

Dr. Sushil Bhatia

Dr. Sushil Bhatia is the President of Anu Data Inc. He pursued his B.Tech. in Electrical Engineering from IIT Bombay in 1966 and later Ph.D. in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Carnegie-Mellon University in 1972.nnRecollecting memories associated with IIT Bombay, he said, “Those were the days. First time out of parents’ house and living by self. Making new friends, playing, teasing, bonding, having fun along with learning technical skills. Learning to learn technology as well as dealing with people”.nnSpeaking about contributions made by Dr. Bhatia for his Chapter, the New York Chapter President Jignesh Patel says, “Sushil has been a consistent and enthusiastic volunteer for as long as I can remember! He is always there with a smile, and ready with his camera to take great pictures at chapter events. On many occasions, we fellow volunteers have enjoyed chaat and lassi he generously brought to our meetings. It has been great to have Sushil’s camaraderie and friendship”.nnHis hobbies include portrait photography and Bollywood dancing.

Mr. Sanjay Dhall

Mr. Sanjay Dhall is the Founder of Detroit Flying Cars, LLC, and President of Emergent Systems Corporation.nnMr. Dhall obtained B.Tech. degree in Mechanical Engineering from IIT Bombay in 1985 and M.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Toledo in USA.nnOn his memories of IIT Bombay, Mr. Dhall recollects, “Sound of chappals dragging on the downhill road, walking back to hostel with friends from afternoon classes in Department, heads exploding with confusing fundas, accompanied by bantering and teasing each other for our dumb responses to the professors’ questions, and poking fun at the professors’ peculiarities. With expectant relief of chai and samosas in the mess”.nnSpeaking about contributions made by Mr. Dhall for the Chapter, the Michigan Chapter President Rajesh Radhakrishnan says, “Sanjay Dhall is a most enthusiastic volunteer, and much-loved member of the Michigan alumni family. He is the driving force behind the “Picnic in the Hangar” events that, since 2014, have been a staple of late summer/ early autumn Michigan (& Ohio) IITians. The joy rides over Canton/ Detroit Metro hosted by experienced pilots from Sanjay’s cohort at the Canton Regional Airport made “Picnic in the Hangar” a hit across age-groups. Sanjay is also an enthusiastic participant who rolls up his sleeves for other events in Michigan, and lends muchawaaz at our “happy hour” 3rd Saturday lunches at Aahar Restaurant, and lets us borrow his office for our 1st Saturday Speed Talks mixers. A good friend, a good listener, and always there for the IITian friends”.nnMr. Radhakrishnan, also said, “From the picnics and lunches, to flying us on his plane or flying car and everything in between, hosting alumni and IIT director-deans in his office, brewing and serving coffee at our events, Sanjay is there with his calm demeanor and smiling face since 2013, truly the guy who only asks, “how can I help?” (and has meant it all the way the last 6 years)”.nnMr. Dhall loves to design and invent new things, especially designing, building and flying full-size airplanes and model airplanes.

Mr. Bhalchandra Gopal Deokule

Mr. Bhalchandra Gopal Deokule completed his B. Tech. and M. Tech. in Aerospace Engineering from IIT Bombay in 1975 and 1977, respectively.nnHe worked as instructor at CFM Training Centre at Hyderabad from 2011 to 2020, as Instructor/Dy. General Manager in Indian Airlines (now Air India) from 1977 to 2010. He has 42 years of teaching and training experience in aviation including Ground Instructor for pilots, Ground Instructor for Cabin crew, Ground Instructor for Aircraft Maintenance Engineers.nnMr. Deokule fondly remembers the excellent facilities at IIT Bombay for academic pursuit.nnSpeaking about contributions made by Mr. B. G. Deokule for his Chapter, the Outgoing Chapter President Mr. Praveen Malla says, “B. G. Deokule is one of the founding members of the Chapter. He, along with couple of alumni, drove the idea of forming IITBAA Hyderabad Chapter in 2002 that culminated in inaugural meeting on October 16, 2002 addressed by then IIT Bombay Director Prof. Ashok Mishra”.nnMr. Deokule served as the Treasurer from 2002 to 2006. He strove hard to unearth alumni in the city overcoming lack of organised alumni database and inadequate communication facilities. He took initiative to organise several monthly alumni programs – talks on wide ranging topics by alumni, nostalgic get together, etc. – during the nascent years of the Chapter which boosted alumni interest and raised Chapter membership. The Chapter owes its existence and growth to Mr. Deokule’s yeoman efforts. We are indebted to him for laying the foundation for the Chapter and for building it brick by brick,” Mr. Malla added.nnHis hobbies include classical music (sitar), chess, table tennis, carrom, sketching, painting, etc.nn
