Yes, any Individual, Corporates or any other entity can donate to IIT Bombay.

There are various causes for which one can donate to IIT Bombay. Donor receives an immediate acknowledgement and receipt over email for all online donations. In case you have donated through cheque, NEFT transfer or any other offline mode, receipt shall be sent to your email id once the credit is received in IIT Bombay donation account. Please share the donation details (including Name, Address and PAN) to givingback@acr.iitb.ac.in for all offline donations so that the funds can be acknowledged, and receipt can be shared at the earliest.

Donations can be made on a recurring basis every month, instead of making a one-time lump-sum donation. For Recurring donations – the donor can visit the ‘Donate Online’ section on the website and set up a monthly auto-debit instruction. Once this is registered, the amount shall be auto deducted from the registered bank account on a monthly basis. This is a safe and secure RBI approved E-NACH facility offered by all banks for recurring payments. The auto-debit instruction can be disabled at any time. 

You can establish your legacy or the legacy of your loved ones by sponsoring a room in any IITB hostel of your choice. Your contribution will be acknowledged by establishing a plaque on the room with the donor’s name (or the name of who they choose). The donation will be used to support the student housing infrastructure of IIT Bombay.

Naming policy for the rooms:

The donor will be given Naming of the room for perpetuity (Till the useful life of the Building). The Naming will be exclusive for first 15 years where no other donor name will be added to the room. After the end of 15 years, if additional funds are required in the future for significant renovation / refurbishment / maintenance or upgradation of the hostel room the Institute will reach out to the Donor to support these activities, i.e. to sponsor the renovation /refurbishment / maintenance or upgradation of the room and renew the naming rights. Should the Donor /Donors be unreachable or not in a position to support these activities, then the opportunity to contribute / donate such additional funds will be sought from other available / interested donors. In case such activities are supported by a new donor, appropriate acknowledgement of the new donor will be made as per the prevailing policies of IIT Bombay. The original donor will then share the naming rights to the physical entity.

The current cost which a student has to bear per year is 2.83 Lakh INR which consists of Tuition Fees, Mess Fees and Bording. The Tuition fees are around 2 Lakh INR per year. Hence for a four-year course, the total tuition fees which a student has to pay is 8 Lakh INR (2 Lakh INR * 4). We are urging the alumni to pay the tuition fees at today’s rate.
